Development of an e-commerce store for a small business. My role focused primarily on improving the visual appearance of the store to match the customer's vision, while also addressing backend issues.
JTL-Store operates on a toolbox-like system with limited built-in customization options. The platform's template system wasn't designed for extensive visual modifications, making it difficult to achieve the customer's specific design requirements through standard means.
To work around the platform's limitations, I modified existing templates and injected custom code through the rich text editor to achieve the desired visual results. For more complex requirements, I developed custom plugins that directly access the database to retrieve and display important information for the customer.
This hybrid approach combines creative workarounds with proper backend development, allowing us to extend the platform's capabilities while working within its constraints.
The store now reflects the customer's visual brand identity despite the platform's limitations. Custom plugins provide real-time access to critical business data, and the store runs smoothly.
